The Role
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented IR/ER Business Partner with a strong focus on Industrial Relations (IR) and Employment Relations (ER) based in our Subiaco office.
Working alongside our HR/IR Managers and the broader HR team, you will play a key role in advising managers and leadership across Australia on IR and HR matters. This role is hands-on, requiring a pragmatic approach to employee relations, industrial agreements, and compliance with employment laws.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide accurate advice on employment contracts, enterprise agreements and modern awards. Coach and support line mangers on performance management, counselling and disciplinary action. Participate in and lead investigations pertaining to employee relations issues. Support enterprise agreement negotiations, participate in bargaining meetings and respond to industrial action. Provide advice and support in the preparation of enterprise agreement bargaining including, drafting key documentation and employee communications. Provide training to Managers, Leaders, and employees on ER matters such as Union Right of Entry and acceptable workplace behaviour. Provide strategic and tactical advice and support to management on effective HR cost management, including interpretation of ER legislation, individual contracts, remuneration & benefits queries, regional salary reviews and application of remuneration policy. Assist with the review and improvement of current HR policies and procedures. Provide support in redeployment, termination and redundancy processes. Maintain employee records and associated HR systems. Proactively coach and mentor other HR team members. Contribute to the accurate delivery of monthly HR reporting.The successful applicant will ideally have:
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations/Employee Relations, Employment Law or a similar qualification. Proven solid experience in industrial relations management within the construction, mining, and/or engineering industries, within a contracting environment. Comprehensive understanding of the industrial relations framework and the ability to interpret legislation and case law. Dealing with unions, in addition to the Fair Work commission responding to claims and disputes. Experience working with and interpreting industrial instruments and drafting of employment related documentation. Solid data analysis skills, to source and manipulate data to identify trends, issues, and corrective actions. Proven capacity to solve problems and analyse complex and multiple sources of information towards a commercially sound outcome for the Group and our people.About Us
