Our Opening and Your ResponsibilitiesTo strengthen our global Intellectual Property Team, we are seeking at our global operational headquarters in Greifensee, Zurich an IP Counsel 80 – 100 % (all genders).
In this role, your responsibilities would include: You are responsible for actively managing Mettler Toledo's IP portfolio for assigned business areas.You provide strategic advice on IP matters to internal stakeholders to support business objectives.You oversee prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses to aid in product development and commercialization strategies.You draft some European patent applications in-house while overseeing and coordinating the work of external partners for other applications.You monitor competitor patents and industry trends to identify potential risks and opportunities for the company.You evaluate contract terms related to intellectual property and coordinate with the Legal departments for drafting and negotiating those agreements.You develop and conduct training sessions on IP awareness and best practices for employees, fostering a culture of innovation and compliance.What You Need to SucceedFollowing requirements are necessary for this role: You have a master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Physics, or similar fields, and a broadly based interest in science and technology You are (partially) qualified as European Patent Attorney preferably with experience in industry You are highly interested in patent law and interdisciplinary matters with a will to broaden horizons in this field and taking pleasure in a variety of intellectually stimulating workYou have experience in patenting Computer Implemented Inventions, which is favourable for this positionYou have well-developed analytical and writing skills, finely honed interpersonal skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines and to handle several projects simultaneouslyYou collaborate in a diverse, international team, fostering a culture of open communication and mutual respect to achieve common goalsYou are fluent English, and you are able to communicate in GermanOur Offer to YouWe offer:Flexible working hours (depending on the role), a hybrid work model, and a wide portfolio of training opportunitiesA 40-hour work week with at least 25 vacation days per year, plus 4 to 7 additional days off between bank holidaysFree parking and direct access to public transportHealthy lunches cooked onsite at our own METTLER TOLEDO restaurant, with special prices for employees We offer a dynamic and innovation-driven corporate culture that promotes teamwork, personal development, and a passion for excellence.A range of additional attractive benefits, including employee discounts at select area businessesYou can expect challenging, interesting, and varied tasks in an innovative and international environment, with the opportunity to network globally and achieve your career goals.
