This is an Operations Engineer role in the Bonds squad within the FX Bonds and Rates Area of the Markets and Treasury Tribe. The FX Bonds and Rates Area is responsible for systems that allow Rabobank to electronically connect the Markets & Treasury trading value chain seamlessly and competitively to its clients, internal business partners and multilateral pricing and execution platforms.
The Operations Engineer provides 1st/2nd/3rd line support for the applications within your area. Support duties consist of dealing with stakeholders (users, vendors, analysts, developers, testers) and providing advice, solutions and tactical developments as required by the business or to support the technology platform.
Support, maintenance and changes to applications are managed and delivered through agile methodologies with teams working in scrums. Operations Engineers are members of those scrums working to a DevOps method.
The Operations Engineer is capable of taking over the basic activities of other DevOps team members when necessary such as analysis, development and testing.
The role primarily based on the trading floor in Utrecht during normal business hours, and may require participating in an on-call rota for out of hours support.
The key activities are providing first line support to traders and sales people, resolving incidents, and working on enhancements and maintenance tasks as prioritised by stakeholders, particularly the Product Owner.
As Operations Engineer you have autonomy in completing their tasks, and be able to make decisions and achieve objectives with limited oversight within the team standards and practices. You will have delegated responsibility on overnight support. You will need to do what needs to be done to ensure the SLAs are maintained and escalate decisions as directed by support procedures.

Good knowledge of these business areas:
Experience of providing all levels of support within a front office environment, demonstrating an understanding of incident and problem management.
Good understanding of:
Fixed Income electronic trading venues, both D2D and D2C.
Fixed Income trade flows (pricing, quoting, RFQ, STP, settlement
Regulatory topics, for example MiFID pre/post trade reporting and Algo trading regulations
Trade flows (pricing, quoting, RFQ, STP, settlement, regulatory reporting etc)
You must have the following technical skills:
ION Marketview
Azure DevOps (or similar, e.g. JIRA)
Continuous integration/deployment tools (e.g. Azure DevOps)
Leadership/ Management Skills:You may occasionally be required to lead the support team or activities within the team:
Ability to triage incidents and problems and seek prioritisation from business where necessary;
Capability to react to an emergency incident calmly, efficiently and urgently;
To escalate urgent issues to senior management where necessary and appropriate.
Booking of calls and resolutions in the incident management support tool
Liaising with other support teams and departments to provide solutions to problems
Gathering requirements and planning changes and enhancement to the platform.
Managing projects to completion.
Good understanding of change management procedures.
Systems Knowledge/ Skills:
You must have knowledge and understanding of the following applications of IT:
Detailed knowledge of at least part of the ION stack (MMI (136), D2C and D2D gateways, PXE, VMO, VMQ, Risk, STP etc).
Ideally the candidate will have a good understanding of the infrastructure underpinning the ION platform, including:
Networks
Linux (including scripting)
Databases (including basic SQL)
Experience of delivering changes within an ION platform, from requirements gathering to implementation. Including a good understanding of change management processes.
Experience of Bloomberg TOMS would be desirable but not essential.
While the role does require some experience of ION Marketview, it does involve working in a team of subject matter experts and therefore provides an opportunity to learn and develop a broader understanding of ION.
