Position Overview and Role:
Palladium
is seeking an Investment Coordinator to assist in the development of a Nature
Catalyst Facility.
The Nature Catalyst aims to
unlock $500M USD in investments for Nature-based Solutions (NbS) across
Southeast Asia, targeting the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors in
Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia and Laos. Leveraging a blended finance model,
the Catalyst combines grant funding with investment capital to de-risk and
accelerate early-stage NbS pipelines and generate adequate returns on
investments in the long-run. The solution’s dual-facility structure comprises:
(1) the Nature Catalyst Incubation Facility (NCIF), which offers
performance-based grants and technical assistance (TA) to local pipeline
developers, and grants to strengthen NbS projects; and (2) the Nature Catalyst
Fund (NCF), which provides tailored finance (e.g., loans, revenue-based loans,
and convertible debt) to support NbS projects and enterprises across seed,
venture, and early growth stages. The Catalyst aims to raise $10M USD in grants
from donors for the NFF, and $100M USD in capital for the NCF from public
concessional finance sources, family offices, private foundations, and
corporates.
The
Investment Specialist will support the team in stakeholder mapping,
country-level assessments, and investor engagement and outreach strategies for
the Vietnam market and coordination support to the regional team. Depending on
the profile of the candidate, this position may also provide analysis and
investor outreach support to Cambodia, the Philippines, and Laos.
Anticipated Level of Effort: It is anticipated this position will be engaged from June 15, 2025 – May 15, 2026, with approximately 45 days of LoE. These estimates are subject to change based on the needs of the assignment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Contribute to investor tracking, local investor outreach strategies, and investor engagement, including securing and attending meetings with potential investors Contribute to stakeholder mapping and consultations, including pipeline developers and technical assistance providersSupport the analysis of potential market size, competition landscape, and applicability of different financial instruments and offerings of NCIF & NCF for the target beneficiaries, including upstream and downstream linkagesSupport the sourcing and screening of pipeline of nature-positive companiesMay include domestic and/or regional travelAny and all other project-related tasks as required by Team Leaders and Palladium HQPosition Requirements:
Advanced knowledge of the investment sector in Vietnam; experience fundraising for agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors preferredRobust network and relationships within the Vietnamese financial sector, networks within the Southeast Asia region will be considered beneficialExperience in market landscape assessments Strong project management and communications skillsProven ability to form collaborative relationships with implementing partners and various stakeholders in the finance and investment ecosystemExperience with blended finance vehicles and/or fundraising for NbS is desirableWritten and oral proficiency in English required
