Investment Associate

Mercer’s global Alternatives team is excited to announce an opportunity for an Investment Associate to join our dynamic Private Equity Investments team in Sydney. This role offers the chance to work with a world-class team and support our large discretionary and advisory institutional client base.

We will count on you to:

Manage all private equity-related tasks for Australian clients, including stakeholder management, portfolio management, and internal/external communications.Evaluate funds and co-investment opportunities while fostering relationships with industry participants such as placement agents and fund managers.Conduct thorough due diligence on identified funds, including on-site interviews, track record analysis, and preparation of investment reports.Support investment recommendations with quantitative and qualitative analysis and contribute to strategic research projects.Monitor existing investments by attending AGMs and discussing research findings with internal and external clients.

What you need to have:

A strong academic background with a BA/BS degree in finance, economics, or a related field; a Master’s degree, CFA, or CAIA qualifications are a plus.3+ years of relevant experience in private markets and financial markets.A desire to develop your career in private market investments.Fluency in written and spoken English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong numeracy skills and high attention to detail, along with advanced proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
