Job Description

Minimum Requirements
• Namibian citizenship.
• Completed LLB or equivalent legal degree.
• Minimum experience of 1 year in a legal, governance, investment, or transaction advisory role.
• The following be considered an additional advantage:
• Admission as an Attorney.
• An advanced degree or a second degree or qualification in Law, Commerce, Finance, Investments, Accounting, or Economics.
• Professional qualification in a finance, investment, or related field.
• Experience in either an unlisted investment related role, or experience in providing legal advice on commercial or project finance transactions.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate & coordinate the execution of workstreams related to investment transactions with minimal supervision and guidance.
• Ability to articulate and reason confidently and clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Enthusiastic, energetic, driven, and proactive.
• Strong team player.


Job Specification.
• Screen, evaluate, and assess investment opportunities under the guidance of the Portfolio Managers.
• Assist the Portfolio Managers with the preparation of investment recommendations for consideration by internal and external investment committees.
• Assist the Portfolio in the implementation of approved transactions.
• Assist the Portfolio Managers in sourcing investment opportunities and developing and managing the pipeline of investment opportunities.
• Assist the Portfolio Managers in the ongoing asset management of existing investments.
• Assist with the day-to-day operations and governance of the Investment Team and the Funds.
• Drive the implementation of Sustainability and Impact considerations and metrics in the investment process.
• Liaise and maintain relationships with internal and external role players and stakeholders.
• Assist the Investment Team with internal and external reporting.

Assists with the formulation, revision and implementation of investment plans which may include fixed income, equity, property and foreign exchange portfolios and economic views. Performs investment research, monitors developments in security markets and liaises with tax attorneys or accountants to determine legal consequences of investment decisions. Gathers and interprets data, monitors financial performance, and prepares reports supporting portfolio managers.

ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management and Control

Track progress against budgets within established finance systems, and report variances to more senior colleagues.

Financial Policies, Guidelines, and Protocols

Contribute to the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice.

Data Collection and Analysis

Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.

Document Preparation

Organize and prepare complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software. Also responsible for gathering and summarizing data for special reports.

Investment Management

Support the investment team on more-complex activities by monitoring financial performance and preparing ad hoc reports using a wide variety of existing processes, procedures, and precedents.

Solutions Analysis

Interpret data and identify possible answers. Involves navigating a wide variety of processes, procedures, and precedents.

Internal Communications

Help others get the most out of internal communications systems by offering support and advice.

Internal Client Relationship Management

Build effective working relationships within the internal client organization, delivering high-quality professional services with guidance from senior colleagues.

Data Management

Help others get the most out of data management systems by providing support and advice.

Personal Capability Building

Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
