The Role:
Conduct internal compliance investigations regarding allegations of business misconduct and wrongdoing and brand protection investigations. You will report results as directed or at the request of GM Global Security Investigations Manager.
What You'll Do:
Conduct internal compliance investigations regarding allegations of business misconduct and wrongdoing, and brand protection investigations. Investigative steps include interviewing, reviewing CCTV footage, maintenance of chain of evidence and report writing, and may also include surveillance activity Reports results as directed by the GM Global Security Investigations ManagerFunctions in an independent manner, as well as in a team setting, demonstrating superior judgment and effective oversight of investigationsProvide clear, concise documentation at a level that would support employment action or filing of charges/prosecution by an administrative agency or in a court of laReview reports to determine trends and patterns for possible follow-up investigationsPerform risk assessments as part of investigative process to identify weaknesses in either physical security or internal controlsInterface effectively with law enforcement agencies, internal GM business units/staffs and SuppliersMaintain current working knowledge and follows both legal and General Motors’ requirements with respect to investigations, interviewing and surveillanceCarry out all duties in a legal, ethical, and professional manner in accordance with General Motors Winning with IntegrityEnsure that the privacy rights of the parties are protected, and information is shared on a legitimate need to know basisOversee and perform multiple projects in a prioritized, timely and efficient mannerRecord investigation activity using General Motors’ electronic incident and reporting tool to ensure that findings are communicated and documented in a timely manner 

Additional Job DescriptionYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
5+ years of prior investigation experience in one of the following fields:Law EnforcementCorporate SecurityOR combined industry experience Experience interviewing and obtaining written statements from individuals.Ability to prepare accurate, clear, concise reports, presentations and recordsAbility to professionally and clearly communicate both verbally and in writing with customers, employees and othersWorking knowledge of international, federal, state and local criminal law and rules of evidence pertaining to theft, fraud, drugs and employment lawBasic understanding of lawful investigatory practices including interviewing practices, privacy rights, surveillance techniques, search and seizure and risk assessmentsBasic understanding of Intellectual Property Rights, (IPR), including civil and criminal remedies (preferred)Ability to travel between facilities on short notice as work assignments require (expected travel is less than 10%)Ability to function independently and with a team as business dictates Ability to lead work within a team environment on complex and confidential issuesCompetent planning, project management, organization, and time management skills needed to appropriately prioritize and complete special projects and daily workExcellent communication skills needed to present complex information to management and co-workers, and to conduct investigationsStrong analytical skills needed to evaluate complex data and develop reasonable analysis, appropriate conclusions and/or innovative solutionsComputer skills needed to develop logs, process records and meet regular reporting requirementsFluent in English (written and verbal)Proficient with MS Office softwarePreferred:
