Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
NBC4/T52 is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Investigative Producer to join our award-winning investigative team. This role is responsible for developing, researching, and producing original investigative content across platforms with a strong emphasis on breaking news. The ideal candidate is a tenacious journalist who thrives on uncovering truth, holding the powerful accountable, and delivering impactful journalism without the need to appear on camera.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Conceive, pitch, and develop enterprise and investigative story ideas.
+ Conduct in-depth background research, gather documents, and analyze public records, data, and other materials.
+ Cultivate and manage sources, including whistleblowers, experts, and community members.
+ Work closely with on-air reporters, photographers, editors, and legal teams to shape compelling, fact-driven narratives.
+ Assist with writing scripts, producing segments, and digital packages.
+ Ensure all investigative content meets ethical, legal, and journalistic standards.
+ 5+ years of experience in investigative reporting or producing.
+ Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field.
+ Strong knowledge of FOIA/public records processes and data journalism tools.
+ Excellent research, writing, and storytelling skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
+ High level of discretion and professionalism when dealing with sensitive information.
+ Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
+ Understanding of media law and investigative best practices.

Desired Characteristics:
+ Experience with court documents, government databases, and financial records.
+ Familiarity with editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, AVID) and newsroom CMS.
+ Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.

Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
Salary Range: $75,000 to $115,000
