NBC4/T52 is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Investigative Producer to join our award-winning investigative team. This role is responsible for developing, researching, and producing original investigative content across platforms with a strong emphasis on breaking news. The ideal candidate is a tenacious journalist who thrives on uncovering truth, holding the powerful accountable, and delivering impactful journalism without the need to appear on camera. Job Responsibilities: + Conceive, pitch, and develop enterprise and investigative story ideas. + Conduct in-depth background research, gather documents, and analyze public records, data, and other materials. + Cultivate and manage sources, including whistleblowers, experts, and community members. + Work closely with on-air reporters, photographers, editors, and legal teams to shape compelling, fact-driven narratives. + Assist with writing scripts, producing segments, and digital packages. + Ensure all investigative content meets ethical, legal, and journalistic standards. + 5+ years of experience in investigative reporting or producing. + Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field. + Strong knowledge of FOIA/public records processes and data journalism tools. + Excellent research, writing, and storytelling skills. + Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure. + High level of discretion and professionalism when dealing with sensitive information. + Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. + Understanding of media law and investigative best practices.
