Inventory Specialist

Position Summary
Controls and maintains the hospitals main inventories, stock and emergency, and ensures timely replenishment and accurate on-hand quantities that reflect consumption trends through utilization of a complex supply chain management system. Assures product availability, avoiding gross shortages or overages.
Primary Position Responsibilities
+ Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of medical supplies, solutions, and equipment to ensure adequate inventory is available at all times.
+ Order Processing: Place orders for supplies based on usage trends and inventory needs and track order deliveries to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.
+ Inventory Control: Conduct regular physical inventory/cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure accurate data entry into inventory management systems.
+ Collaboration: Work closely with supply chain staff, clinical staff, and other departments to forecast needs and ensure that the right supplies are available when required.
+ Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that inventory management practices comply with healthcare industry regulations, such as infection control, safety standards, and inventory audits.
+ Waste Management: Monitor items with expiration date and ensure proper disposal of expired, obsolete or unusable supplies.
+ Manages recall and product failure responses for all stock items

Minimum 2 yrs Supply Chain experience in logistics/inventory control, purchasing
Preferred:
5 years Supply Chain experience in logistics/inventory control, purchasing ,in a healthcare setting

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Required:
Knowledge of general med /surg supplies Strong analytical computer skills Spreadsheets in Excel or access. Work in multiple applications. Good communication skills and strong organizational abilities.
