Role Summary:
Chesapeake Flowserve seeks an Inventory & Warehouse Operations Supervisor responsible for overseeing the organization, control, and accuracy of inventory across the facility. This role ensures efficient warehouse operations, effective shipping and receiving processes, and a high-performing team focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional efforts to support production goals and inventory integrity while fostering team development and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Receiving, Shipping & Warehouse OperationsOversee all daily receiving and shipping activities to ensure timely product labeling, put-away, and material availability.Ensure material handlers meet daily schedules and proactively prepare work for assembly teams.Manage and monitor daily write-offs, striving for zero inventory balance issues that may disrupt production.Support material rationalization and consolidation efforts, including Kardex transactions, OSMI handling, and disposal initiatives for Chesapeake and UNIS.Maintain exceptional inventory accuracy during all receiving, put-away, and material movement processes.Lead the Aftermarket team to meet shipping goals while ensuring quality standards.Respond promptly to buyer inquiries on receipt discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.Ensure daily shipping targets are achieved with a focus on accuracy and timelinessTeam Development & Continuous Improvement
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing warehouse team (8 persons) with a strong focus on engagement, safety, and continuous improvement.Cultivate a results-driven culture prioritizing safety, quality, productivity, and inventory integrity.Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce risk.Drive inventory improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis and robust cycle count programs.Cross-Training & Workforce Flexibility
Design and implement a cross-training program to build team flexibility and support employee growth.Collaborate with team leads to shift resources across work cells as needed based on business demands.Foster career progression and develop internal talent to enhance organizational capability.Employee Management & Performance
Monitor and approve daily timecards, ensuring compliance with labor policies and attendance accuracy.Provide continuous feedback—both written and verbal—to promote employee development and alignment.Conduct annual performance evaluations that deliver clear, constructive, and impartial reviews.Hiring ResponsibilitiesAdministrative & System Support
Manage the Receiving Inbox by processing supplier drop shipments and off-site warehouse receipts.Complete virtual receipts in Oracle, print and file packing slips, and update internal records.Investigate and resolve discrepancies with buyers for virtual shipments or off-site deliveries.Oversee sub-inventory transfers between locations and support production paint shipments to outside machine shops as needed.Requirements:
3–5 years of experience in warehouse, inventory, or supply chain operationsStrong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and inventory management best practicesExcellent leadership, communication, and organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to coach, develop, and lead teams in a fast-paced environmentCommitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvementPreferred Skills:
