Inventory Finance Manager, Supply Chain

Resmed is searching for an experienced, detail-oriented Inventory Finance Manager for the Americas region to join our U.S. Supply Chain Finance team. This individual will report to the Director – Supply Chain Finance and will have the opportunity to work with a team of highly motivated professionals across the Globe within a fast-paced environment. This is a cross-functional role that will partner with Supply Chain, Inventory Control, IT, Financial Systems, Engineering, and the Factory teams in the course of the day-to-day inventory accounting activities and in support of strategic initiatives.

This individual will be responsible for all inventory finance and accounting functions for the Americas distribution centers, including managing and reporting on all inventory in the Americas, , product manufacturing analysis, maintaining a strong internal control environment, and partnering with the distribution center inventory operations teams. They will also be responsible for internal reporting on inventory position, valuation risks, and business insights as a part of monthly accounting close process.

Let’s talk about Responsibilities

LEADERSHIP: Lead all aspects of the inventory accounting process, including reserve calculations, standard costing, and controls with an emphasis on process improvements, automation and analysis of the business results to support the company’s scale and growthLEADERSHIP: Active member and leader of projects around system and process optimization in partnership with Supply Chain, AP & ITLEADERSHIP: Be the technical expert in all matters related to inventory financial processesLEADERSHIP: Work closely with inventory control to resolve discrepancies in inventory and identify opportunities for process improvementsLEADERSHIP: Lead system and process optimization projects in partnership with Supply Chain, AP & ITDATA ANALYSIS: Initiate reviews and analysis to provide business insights and respond to inquiries from senior managementDATA ANALYSIS: Analyze and ensure accuracy of Inventory data across WMS (HighJump), 3PL, Budgeting and Forecasting Systems (Anaplan), and ERP (Oracle)AUDIT: Supports the annual financial statement audit process; working with both internal and external auditorsCLOSE: Ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of month-end close activities for inventory, related inventory reserves, and COGS, including journal entries, account reconciliations, roll-forwards, and analysisE&O: Lead and manage the excess and obsolete inventory review process from beginning to end, including partnering with Sales, Supply Chain Planning, and Supply Chain to assess current and future demand

Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for someone who is able to identify and resolve problems both independently and as a part of a team. They also need to have excellent analytical skills, WMS and ERP system skills, experience in inventory and cost accounting, and the ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration CPA or CMA preferred (current, or actively pursuing)7+ years of experience in inventory finance and accounting and inventory controls, including manufacturing.Subject matter expert in accounting for inventory and COGSStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, and general accounting conceptsIntermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skillsAn analytical mind and are always thinking of ways to streamline and improve processes or problemsStrong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple competing tasks simultaneouslyExperience with ERP and warehouse management systems required; Oracle and HighJump experience preferredStrong communicator and leader who enjoys coaching, mentoring, and developing othersAbility to influence and partner with departments outside of FinanceEffective verbal and written communication skills

Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.

At ResMed, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $109,000 - $165,000
