Job Description
An integral role in our Supply Chain team. Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, this individual is responsible for the ongoing material handling, receiving, and WIP shipping processes including transaction accuracy. The Inventory Coordinator / Process Specialist will be responsible for troubleshooting system problems and identifying root cause issues. Additionally, this individual will own key initiatives and projects focused on improving accuracy and material flow, while providing inter-departmental support as needed.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to supporting the following:
+ Daily management of all material handling processes and transaction accuracy.
+ Identify and create processes to improve material flow through the system
+ Provides direction to the material handling team pertaining to material follow and best practices. Identify and communicate bottleneck areas and provide assistance to manage over / under capacity situations
+ Leads the overall cycle count process
+ Assists in leading the physical inventory process
+ Leads the removal of scrap, salvage, obsolete material throughout the plant
+ Perform other duties as assigned
General Operations Responsibilities:
+ Health & Safety: Consistently works in a safe manner with regard to self, co-workers, and manufacturing systems. Engages and inspires team members to make safety personal and facilitates Performs general housekeeping tasks and waste removal within department/group and assists other areas as required.
+ ELS: Continuously reviews current processes and searches out improvement methods to improve product/process quality and reduce waste, rework, and unnecessary work that adds no value to the work or process. Supports safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Teamwork: Assists and supports other team members in meeting department and site goals. Participates and shares in performing all tasks necessary to run the facility. Contributes and participates in team decision-making. Provides support in project work and other special requests.
Daily / Weekly Expectations:
+ Ensure physical material / supply storage is in compliance with designated areas.
+ Ensure that both internal and external warehouses are counted on a monthly basis (Raws, WIP, Packaging, Finished Goods, Flammable ‘s, etc)
+ Ensure corrections are completed in the system
+ Investigate inventory losses and create process improvements to prevent going forward
+ Own / Manage Transaction accuracy and gap investigation / follow-up (WIP distribution, receiving).
+ Ensure that an effective MOC (management of change) process is followed for new or changed processes.
Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
+ Four (4) years previous shipping / inventory management experience
+ Ability to create and modify standard work documents to align with ISO
+ Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with all functions and levels of the organization.
+ Results oriented focus and ability to take ownership to resolve issues.
+ Flexibility and willingness to initiate change.
+ High customer focus: ability to proactively identify and meet customer needs.
+ Ability to interface with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements.
+ Ability to work well with all levels of management and employees.
+ Familiarity in process documentation and improvement.
+ Strong understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Excel Databases, Microsoft Access Databases, and business systems (Oracle,SAPbyDesign)
Minimum Requirements:
+ Minimum education of High School Diploma or Equivalent.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Have general knowledge and be able to work with computers and programs (G Suite Applications, Oracle, SAPbyDesign etc).
+ Willingness to act as an additional material handling resource by taking a hands-on approach to day-to-day inbound/outbound/production activities.
+ Must regard safety as a core value; must serve as a role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices, policies and procedures.
+ Must be able to actively contribute in a team based environment, encourage open communication and positive interaction with peers and management to effectively reach a common goal.
+ Must have a strong service and quality focus, be able to address issues effectively when problems arise, and take the initiative to understand the root cause then communicate/educate team in a timely manner.
+ Must have demonstrated record of flexibility and dependability in order to support material handling operations and a strong customer focus.
+ Must have a strong detail orientation and be able to follow written and oral instructions.
+ Must be able to lift / push / pull up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Requirements
+ 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing/logistics in a similar production environment.
+ Track record of participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Time Management skills, ability to work with teams , or autonomously.
+ Track record of following Lean manufacturing processes.
+ Forklift experience highly preferred
