Job Purpose Statement :
Perform and train employees on the key functions of receiving and inventory control.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Support and adhere to Parker’s Code of Ethics, policies, and procedures and observe housekeeping guidelines. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Essential Functions:
1. Arrive at work one half hour prior to shift start. Responsible for ensuring efficient startup of receiving and inventory control team to support the entire facility by:
a. Conducting an inventory control and receiving team start up meeting covering S, Q, D, C daily topics.
b. Ensure the “Hot Parts and Counts” are communicated and counts assigned to a team member.
c. Verify Receiving and Inventory control team members are in place and ready to begin work on time (shift start, returning from lunch and breaks).
d. Conducting team huddle in supervisor absence.
e. Conduct layered audits daily with the supervisor and/or materials manager on receiving/counts.
f. Deep root cause using 5 why analysis and other LEAN tools to determine appropriate corrective actions.
2. Stay one half hour beyond shift end to ensure organization of inventory counts, adjustments, and receipts are completed to support the next planned shift. Discuss the day’s issues / opportunities with supervisor if not addressed during the shift.
3. Ensure EHS practices are followed throughout all materials areas. Correct issues as they arise. Documentation of near miss occurrences, lead A3 problem solving process to prevent recurrences.
Qualification Requirements:

+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED): one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions, work orders, procedures, prints, and short correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form with engineers, managers, and other associates to share information and help to solve problems.
+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
+ Computer skills including MS Word and Excel preferred. May require operating powered equipment including all of the following Forklift (Stand up / Sit- Down), Order picker, Tugger, Turret Truck, pallet jack, electric pallet jack. May require climbing ladders.

The associate is occasionally required to bend and stoop, repetitively handle parts or tools, and lift and/or move 35 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color acuity, near acuity and depth perception. Requires the ability to master use of scanning technology and equipment.
