Job Summary:

Are you a problem solver that has a passion for leading? Trane Technologies in Grand Rapids, MI is hiring an Inventory Control Supervisor. Our Grand Rapids facility manufactures commercial HVAC products. This role will be based in our distribution center with support to the other warehouses in Kentwood, MI.

The Inventory Control Supervisor will be an essential position to execute all inventory control functions including:  supervising the hourly cycle count team, inventory control analyst, running daily reports, tracking inventory, research discrepancies, maintaining inventory levels, month end reconciliation, yearly physical inventory, cycle count reporting, and driving continual improvements.  The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and possess a high level of analytical and problem-solving skills as it relates to inventory accuracy and the impact on the overall business.

Where is the work:

This position has been designated as onsite. The company has designated this role as Safety Sensitive.

What you will do:

Manage the hourly cycle count team driving improvements in Safety, Quality, Inventory, and team Productivity.Work with Finance and other departments as needed to ensure regulatory compliance to all external and internal standards.Utilize the MDI process to share progress and assist/coach the Shipping and Receiving teams with problem-solving inventory accuracy issues.Review and analyze daily and weekly inventory adjustments and changes.Support the preparation and analysis of weekly and monthly reporting of inventory control results and activities from the warehouse management system (WMS).Analyze and report on metrics and recommend ways to improve the inventory control function.Audit applications and processes to ensure data integrity.Analyze existing business processes and logic that impact inventory throughout the company through personal observation and user interaction.Develop new applications and tools as well as ad hoc and refreshable reports to help with root cause analysis or to streamline related processes.Perform data analysis and audits of operation processes, inventory movement analysis and other procedures.Ability to multitask and work independently with precise detail and follow-up reporting.Must be flexible with start and end times that are communicated in advance that support Inventory Control best practices for large Distribution Centers. This involves overtime as needed and Special Projects.Overlap with off-shifts and support training as needed impacting Inventory Accuracy.Meet performance expectations with limited supervision in accordance of standard work and in line with the unique dynamic of the Inventory Management team.Understand contracts.Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Prior experience in Inventory Control, Quality, or Audit Service.Work overtime and weekends as required.Timely response to emails, phone or radio calls.Perform other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required3+ years inventory control experience required in a manufacturing or warehousing settingSupervisory experience strongly preferred.Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to assess and prioritize needsMust possess sound interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environmentExcellent problem-solving and conflict management skills.Strong computer proficiency – Microsoft Office required; Oracle preferredLean or Six Sigma Experience Preferred

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $75,000 - $100,000
