Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Manager of Purchasing, you are responsible for the receipt, distribution and inventory of stores.Does this position require Patient Care?No
Essential Functions-Orders, receives, inspects, stores, issues.
-Writes exchange carts for all units.
-Fills and delivers these items.
-Demonstrates a commitment to the maintenance of positive and effective working relationships with other hospital departments.
-Packages and ships material leaving the premises maintaining written documentation of items shipped, reason for shipping, date of shipping, shipper used, and destination.
-IE: return shipments of recalled items.
-Performs other duties as needed or assigned by the Director of Materials Management.
-Receives & delivers medical/surgical supplies and equipment.
-Monitors department usage and assists Supervisor in assuring inventories are maintained.
-Writes exchange carts for all units - accurately delivers all items needed.
-Fills all requisitions subject to the policies and procedures of the department.
-Maintains MM request email box.
-Able to learn & complete functions related to Buyer (i.e.
-Cover Vacations).
-Uses FIFO inventory system for rotating stock throughout the hospital.
-Respects Others.
-Protects and preserves confidential information.
-Communication skills.
-Complies with the MVH Code of Conduct.
-Works within legal, regulatory and ethical practice standards.
-Meets attendance and punctuality standards.
-Demonstrates reliability and accountability.
-Maintains cooperative working relationships with the nurses, physicians and other health care staff, agencies and facilities.
