Inventory Control Specialist

This Inventory Control Specialist will performs inventory control tasks associated with tracking and accounting for all materials on the production floor. Uses powered industrial equipment, such as forklifts and turret trucks, to assist with material movements, cycle counting, inventory issue resolution, and product discards. Must be fluent in excel, and master data ERP data systems (Oracle knowledge is a plus).

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

Working directly with Operations supervisors, material handlers, Quality control and warehouse operators.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for managing the counts and reviewing inventory issues and taking the lead with root cause analysis to prevent those issues from reoccurring. Will proactively advise Team Leads, Supervisors and Managers of inventory trends and provide input into process improvement opportunities in managing materials.  Effectively communicates issues and potentially with other departments (i.e. Procurement, Engineering, and quality).

Use judgment regarding location and storage, methods of movement, and release of materialDemonstrate the capability to support new product development and materials outside of Oracle.Manage the inventory counts and assesses discrepancy reports provided by others in the materials group.Manage all Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance reviewsCollect and input data which will be assessed for trends and implement any corrective actionsExecute material movements in support of business priorities or assigned activitiesHelp with tracking MRB material as needed and work with Quality to ensure locations/counts are correct.Work with MRB coordinator to discard expired products, product samples and scrap material.Collaborates with Procurement on Raw and WIP Inventory safety stocks, managing trends, replenishments or reductions.Performs other duties as assigned

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 5 years of managing inventory experience in an ERP or enterprise systemKnowledge of oracle is a plus

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of production execution (Dock to stock and inspection plans) within an ERP environment (Knowledge of Oracle is a plus).Proficient in MS Office (specifically excel in data entry and data manipulation to develop reports)Ability to safely operate all required equipment.  Must be able to obtain and maintain a current forklift license.Possesses the ability to work well in a dynamic team environment and influence others Solid written and verbal communication skills.Able to work independently with little instruction on routine work and may receive general supervision.Preferred working knowledge of Warehouse Management and Inventory Management aspects of ERPAttention to detailLifting or moving of 5 – 25 lbs. continuously, 25 – 60 lbs. frequently. Active Drivers license

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

Powered industrial transport equipment, such as forklifts, hand truck/jacks and turret trucks

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Lifting of up to 40 lbs.Standing for two hours or more; sitting for two hours or moreAbility to properly apply and remove sterile gowningAbility to work with raw materials (porcine bladders)
