It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital. *Job Summary* Secures quality food and supplies from authorized and approved vendors. Maintains proper storage, stock rotation and security measures while complying with stringent HACCP, regulatory and departmental requirements. Validates purchase orders and the accuracy of delivery invoices such as items received, quality specified, quantity ordered and price extensions. · Maintains adequate levels of food and supplies for delivery and/or pickup and rotates inventory to avoid contamination according to FIFO procedures. · Maintains a clean and uncluttered work area through orderly storage of supplies according to HACCP and regulatory guidelines to protect colleagues and hospital assets. · Orders, receives, stores, delivers and documents food items and supplies in accordance with departmental policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy of supplies received and delivered. · Inspects all goods received to ensure required safety standards are adhered to.
