What You Will Do
The International Transportation Senior Specialist’s primary responsibilities are to coordinate import vendor shipments with our global 3PL origin cargo management provider to effectively flow import cargo focused on cost and service. The Senior Specialist is entrusted to make decisions regarding import booking optimization including ocean, air, and land shipments originating from geographical locations around the world. The Senior Specialist utilizes both internal Lowe’s systems as well as 3rd party Software-as-a-Service systems to execute daily tasks. This position is a front-line owner responsible for shipment optimization, service provider performance, and on-time shipment. The Senior Specialist works closely with other Lowe’s business units including Global Sourcing, Inventory Planning, Import Accounting, and Merchandising. They coordinate the flow of import product from factories to vessels including origin consolidation ensuring service level agreements are met and exceptions are resolved in a timely manner. The Senior Specialist also ensures accurate and timely flow of transportation data including PO transmission, ASN’s, and the generation of commercial invoices and packing lists. They support Estimated Landing Cost calculations for origin operations and audit service provider invoices for accuracy and validity.
Responsibility Statements
•Leverage and optimize import shipment bookings based on vendor requirements with accountability to our import routing guide, carrier capacity, on-time service, and freight cost
•Supports regional overseas transportation operations including support for vendors interfacing with Lowe’s int’l transportation systems and service providers
•Supports Supplier Enablement processes and work flow for import vendors including exception management of PO transmissions as well as vendors meeting our ASN / commercial invoice / packing list requirements
•Manages vendor booking issues and resolution support in order to ship product on time
•Develop and effectively manage relationships with multiple business partners in global sourcing, inventory, import accounting, and merchandising to effectively manage freight flow
•Provide communication and direction to stakeholders regarding shipment issues or risk in the supply chain
•Initiate, develop, and implement continuous improvement activities which achieve exception management workflow within the international supply chain
•Develop and present solutions to resolve immediate and long-term transportation challenges.
•Represents Transportation in communication with a wide range of business units and external partners to collaborate on the planning and execution of import shipment flow
•Communicates to affected stakeholders when missed or late shipments will impact the on-time departure of import PO’s
•Works in partnership with Global Sourcing and Inventory stakeholders on seasonal resets, special buys, new programs, and promotional orders to ensure vendor to DC execution success
•Maintains proper documentation for accessorial pay purposes; compiles, validates and submits invoices for accessorial payments
What you Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
•2 years relevant work experience
•Technology skills across a wide range of programs, including, but not limited to: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Power BI
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities
•Detail oriented with exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
•Demonstrated self-starter with consistent drive to follow-up and follow through on key deliverables
•Strong ability to communicate and interact with internal and external stakeholders
•Excellent oral and written communication skills

•Previous international transportation experience
