Your role and responsibilitiesLooking for a taste of working life in an international, future-focused corporate group? Then join us as an intern (m/f/d) and familiarise yourself with a suitable department for 3 to 6 months. You will be involved in large-scale projects and perform a defined set of duties independently. Use your internship to build a network and become familiar with our company. The following tasks and responsibilities will be part of your role:•\tSupporting innovative R&D activities by contributing to the design and analysis of electric drive systems.•\tConducting literature reviews to understand the current state of technology and applying relevant findings to practical research challenges.•\tDeveloping simulation models at varying levels of detail, including: High-fidelity 2D/3D electromagnetic models using finite-element analysis (FEA), System-level models using equivalent circuit or reduced-order approaches.•\tDesigning and performing laboratory experiments, if necessary, to validate simulation results.•\tCollaborating closely with experienced engineers and researchers to optimize both physical prototypes and digital development workflows.•\tContributing your own ideas and creativity to enhance existing hardware concepts and simulation techniques.•\tDocumenting your work clearly and preparing concise reports and presentations for internal knowledge sharing and discussions.
Qualifications for the roleStudy in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related technical field.Solid theoretical knowledge in electromagnetics and electric drives.Knowledge of electric motors and actuator topologies (e.g. BLDC, SynRM, SRM).Interest or experience with position sensors (inductive or eddy current sensors).Practical experience with simulation tools (e.g. ANSYS, COMSOL Multiphysics, MATLAB/Simulink).Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) or system modelling desirable.Hands-on experience with laboratory setups in the areas of electrical machines, power electronics or drive systems.Strong communication skills in written and spoken English.
