The internship

The Global Commerce Strategy team are responsible for ensuring the organization is ready for the future, enabling our business leaders to make the right choices to grow in an ever changing environment.

 

As an intern in the Global Strategy team you will have the opportunity to work on:

Seeking out and bringing to life key trends that will impact the beverage landscape into the future. Liaising with our Operating Companies all around the world to ensure they are making the right portfolio, category and innovation choices into the future. Collating, analyzing and getting insight from market, category and consumer data. Being involved in the organization of key team regional events where strategy and portfolio are discussed. Assisting in the delivery of long term strategic projects, to be delivered to the global leadership team of HEINEKEN. Enabling the to delivery of HEINEKEN’s Brew a Better World Commitment’s by assisting with the reporting of our Responsible Drinking KPIs. Working cross functionally with different global commercial functions such as Global Brands, Innovation, Finance, Consumer Insights, Corporate Affairs and R&D.

 

During your internship you will get the opportunity to get to know HEINEKEN as a company, also outside your department. We give you the trust and freedom, so you can work like a real entrepreneur. The department

The Global Commerce Strategy team was formed in 2023, and is the brains that fuels the future growth of the organization. Led by Matteo Peccei, there are 8 full time members of the team. The intern will support across the team and have access to many different departments, leadership styles and projects. The team works collaboratively and includes all voices and points of view.

The terms of employment

Your starting date is 1 September 2025 The internship is fulltime (in consultation also 4 days a week possible) The duration of the internship is 5 or 6 months (in consultation with your internship supervisor) It is a practice-oriented internship. You will be based in Stadhouderskade 79, Amsterdam. Working from home 2 days per week is possible. You will receive an internship fee of €650 gross pm based on 40 hours per week You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on fulltime) If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed

 

The start of your internship

Together with a diverse group of interns from different departments you will start your internship at HEINEKEN. Together you will be introduced to the organization. Furthermore, you can organize fun activities with your fellow interns.

We need someone who is smart and can readily turn data and information into insight and action. Open to those from all backgrounds, but we particularly welcome those studying business/ commerce, marketing, strategy, innovation, entrepreneurship, economics or statistics. We want someone who is up to date with social media, is interested in the world and aware of global trends. We would love someone who is passionate about beer and wants to learn more about all beverages.

 

Conditions of HEINEKEN

You are enrolled at an educational institution. In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution, from which we receive proof of enrollment for the current academic year from you. In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU. Living in the Netherlands during internship (HEINEKEN does not facilitate housing).
