**Job title:** Internship - Metal-Organic Frameworks Integration with Sensor devices **Project Title:** Metal-Organic Frameworks Integration with Sensor devices **Project Duration:** 6 months (minimum for non-thesis) up to 9 months **Description of role** _To tackle the problem of cross-sensitivity in gas sensors, you will design new Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs). These are porous crystalline materials with an outstanding selectivity for gas adsorption. Majority of current methodologies focus on synthesizing these materials as powder, but these are difficult to integrate with a transducer device. Your challenge is to develop thin-film metal-organic frameworks that can seamlessly be integrated over such semiconductor devices._ **Your role:** _Your work will consist of the following work packages:_ _MOF selection for sensing application (a pre-selection is already made for initial start)_ _Procedure development for thin films (using custom in-house equipment)_ _Characterization of thin-film MOFs for structural and property integrity_ _MOF-transducer integration_ _Potentially, gas sensing studies_ _Deliverables:_ _Material: List of successfully integrated materials with transducers_ _Standard operating procedures for developing these materials as thin films_ _Documentation: A report on the performed work and associated results_ **You're the right fit if:** + Master’s student in the field of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or material science + Skilled with literature study, experimental design, lab work and data analysis. + Experience in chemical R&D environment and affinity towards multidisciplinary research. + Familiarity with material characterization and data processing techniques. + Proficient in scientific writing and reporting. **How we work together** We believe that we are better together than apart.
