At dsm-firmenich, we are looking for a motivated and curious intern to join us in bridging the gap between environmental performance and financial decision-making. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on a meaningful project that supports our carbon reduction goals, while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic, international corporate environment.
What You’ll Do
During this internship, you will support dsm-firmenich by helping to develop a robust, scalable framework for funding and integrating carbon reduction investments across the value chain into core financial decision-making and reporting processes.
You will help classify expenses related to carbon reduction in line with applicable green finance taxonomies, and explore ways to green-tag budgets and allocate sustainability-linked capital to carbon reduction projects. You will also support the development of methods to link non-financial carbon data with financial metrics, and contribute to creating dashboards and reporting templates that connect ESG KPIs to the P&L and balance sheet, in alignment with relevant reporting frameworks.
You will have the freedom and responsibility to conduct independent research, analyze data, and contribute to both practical and strategic applications of your findings within our organization. Your work will directly contribute to achieving our sustainability goals and strengthening the connection between environmental performance and financial steering.

What You Bring
- Field of Study: Sustainable Finance/ Accounting
- Experience: preferably some experience in sustainable finance / accounting
- Skills: Strong analytical and research skills, well-developed written and verbal communication skills, collaborative mindset, proactivity and ability to work independently.
Eligibility criteria and conditions:
• Language requirements: Fluent in English
• Final Selection Day: 22.05.2025 in dsm-firmenich office in Maastricht
• Start of the internship: 01.09.2025
• Duration: 4 months
• Studies: currently enrolled at a Dutch university or applied science university (hogeschool). Your university will cosign the internship agreement
• Location: dsm-firmenich Maastricht office
• Compensation: Internship salary is €550 per month.
