GSK has a wide network of manufacturing sites for the production of vaccines and biologicals in Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, UK, US and Canada. Our team focusses on connecting with the different manufacturing sites involved in the filling of the final product into vials and syringes. We are involved in the deployment of new processes and technologies when several sites in the network are impacted, defining the implementation strategy and providing project management and troubleshooting support. We also set the standards for new equipment/processes and help the sites to adopt these new standards. We also facilitate connections between sites and encourage the sharing of best practices. This position offers a unique global view of the GSK filling network: it allows you to engage with representatives from various production sites, gain insight into the different manufacturing technologies employed at these locations, and contribute to defining and implementing future technologies. Even though there is interaction between us and research and development (R&D), this is not a lab-based or a R&D role. Your responsibilities/activities will be to: Understand the filling processes at GSK, as applied to the different production sites (filling of the final product into vials and syringes) Support the filling team to design, prepare and deploy filling technologies throughout the manufacturing network. To write process evaluation protocols and reports in collaboration with other global teams and local teams (R&D, GSK experts, manufacturing) Understand and deploy, according to a project management methodology, an improvement or innovation project impacting all the different manufacturing sites. Ensure the follow-up and reporting of tasks to the leadership team or other global governance. Participate actively and share the project evolution during the filling community of practice (monthly meeting involving representatives from the different manufacturing sites, the focus of which is information sharing) Liaise with the different sites to share and gather information This internship will allow you to: Develop your technical skills in filling processes Engage with many different functional groups throughout GSK (engineering, manufacturing science and technology (MSAT), Quality, R&D, …) Develop your knowledge of project management (budget, resources, planning) on a multi-site, multi-product project.
