THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and highly organized International Licensing Coordinator to support our licensing business across our portfolio of iconic owned and represented IPs including Popeye, Olive Oyl, Flash Gordon, The Phantom, among others. 

This role will be responsible for managing correspondence and relationships with a network of Int’l agents, collaborating with Legal, Creative, Marketing, and Finance departments to augment existing business and identify new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for global entertainment properties and a knack for building and maintaining professional relationships. Their day-to-day will include analyzing marketplace trends and prospective partnerships to drive business growth and brand exposure as well as providing administrative and creative assistance to the wider team, bolstering the execution of competitive, strategic, global licensing activity.

 

RESONSIBILITIES

International Agent & Licensee Management:

Assist with day-to-day communication with Int’l Agents including onboarding, contract negotiation, identifying opportunities, directing licensee prospects, and general support. Route deal memos and contracts, provide monthly contract status update, and data entry into contracts system Draft and process deal memos for renewals, new deals and work with the Legal department on contract development, process organization, negotiation and execution Coordinate and gather quarterly forecasts from direct licensees/Agents and assist in analyzing them Help maintain and manage the budgets of direct licensees and Int’l Agents

New Business Support: 

Assist SVP in driving new business by identifying new Int’l licensing opportunities and prospecting, pitching and negotiating with potential partners Stay apprised of competitive and marketplace trends to identify new opportunities in the marketplace Conduct gap analysis and drive growth strategy for categories of business, especially International Publishing, Gaming and Experiential Provide product and Int’l licensee information to the marketing team to support retail meetings and presentations Cross-department collaboration and liaising with Legal, Creative, Marketing, Social, PR and Finance department Ideate, create and present targeted presentations to pitch, support or launch licensing programs in specific category areas Assist in preparing and presenting decks and pitches at various internal and external meetings, trade shows, advertising, and events. Provide general support, including but not limited to: maintenance of logs, meeting scheduling with Int’l Agents, and other general Int’l duties, such as gathering documents for trademark application support and licensing projects.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Provide product and Int’l licensee information to the Marketing Team to support retail meetings, presentations, and newsletter development. Present verbal and written deal memo and contract status update to Licensing and Legal team Regularly communicate pertinent information to management and internal team members to keep them apprised of brand/territory performance.  General Cross-department collaboration with Legal, Creative, Marketing, Social, PR and Finance departments. 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE       

B.A/B.S College Degree  1+ years of work experience preferred Passion for international business preferred Excellent communication & presentation skills Team player, self-starter and relationship builder Capable of working independently and managing a variety of initiatives/ opportunities simultaneously Strong relationship building skills, flexible and adaptable; able to collaborate, influence, and persuade at all levels of an organization, both internal and external Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.  Mediabox and DRM experience is a plus Foreign Language is a plus

The base salary for this role is $45k-65K. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

This position is based in the NYC office a minimum of 3 days a week. No remote flexibility.
