Internal Sales Manager
Internal Sales Manager As an Internal Sales Manager within Vanguard’s Financial Advisor Services division, you’ll lead an internal sales team focused on driving strategic growth across the Western region’s four major wirehouses. You’ll guide your team through data-informed sales strategies that drive outcomes, foster meaningful partnerships, and cultivate a culture of inclusion, development, and client satisfaction. Your team will be partnered up on a one-to-one basis with an external sales executive and your most important business relationship will be with your field sales manager counterpart. Core Responsibilities + Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures. + Supports the development of sales related goals. Monitors and communicates progress toward goals and ensures the team is working through partnership with external sales. + Analyzes Voice of Client, market trends, and opportunities for continuous improvement across the internal sales team. Recommends changes to end-to-end processes to meet changing business needs. + Assesses the impact of market events or Vanguard initiatives on the training needs of internal sales crew. + Ensures team develops and maintains relationships with clients in a given market segment. + Analyzes call statistics and client feedback to triage problems and measure success of the team. + Resolves the most complex client issues that are escalated by implementing systematic solutions and controls. Shares internal partner and client feedback with the team. + Partners with other departments as necessary to move clients to the next stage of the sales process. + Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. What We’re Looking For + Minimum five years of relevant experience, with three years in internal sales preferred. Prior supervisory experience is a strong plus. + Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience; graduate degree preferred. Strong experience is our primary focus, but formal education and certifications (CFP, CFA, CIMA) can be a differentiator. + This role requires regulatory licenses and/or registrations (e.g., FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63). Licensing requirements will be determined by Compliance based on role-specific duties, and sponsorship may be available if you do not have all that are necessary.
