Who we are About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

You’ll be joining the Internal Communications team. We take pride in the craft behind our communications, and we use them to connect Stripe’s fast-growing global team to the company’s mission, priorities, and plans, building shared understanding and meaningful engagement along the way. We steer clear of jargon, clichés, and generic corporate language by relentlessly upholding the Stripe tone (get a flavor of it through our operating principles), and we keep Stripe weird.

What you’ll do

With thousands of talented Stripes across the world, we have the opportunity—and responsibility—to provide rich context, clarity on company priorities, and beacons for culture. Every corner of Stripe holds fascinating stories waiting to be uncovered, and in this role, you’ll bring them to light.

You’ll act as an internal reporter, editor, and publisher, finding the most unexpected and illuminating stories across Stripe. You’ll shape those stories into engaging writing and content (blog posts, video, podcast) that is witty, engaging, and educational in its own right, not just a conduit for information—and ensure they reach the right people through thoughtful distribution.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to build strong relationships across teams, navigate Stripe’s internal tools, and connect disparate ideas into cohesive narratives. You’ll be a collaborative teammate who’s also comfortable working independently. And above all, you’ll be an excellent writer. You might have a background in internal comms—or just as likely, you’ve worked as a journalist or multimedia storyteller focused on entrepreneurship and technology.

Responsibilities Research, distill, and communicate complex business and technical updates from across the business (Product, Engineering, GTM, etc.) in clear, creative, and engaging ways for global Stripes. Ingest a wide range of formal and informal sources—data, documents, meeting notes, memos, highly technical material—and proactively build a robust pipeline with updates worth a broader audience. Tell the stories of the people and teams building Stripe – showing the exceptional pace, standard and user-first mindset upheld by Stripes across the world. Maintain deep curiosity and a strong understanding of how the business operates. Experiment with storytelling beyond writing—through video, audio, interactive formats, events, and whatever else helps the story land. Monitor progress and sentiment among Stripes and make course corrections as needed. Build, manage, and evolve multiple editorial initiatives simultaneously to keep up with business and audience needs. Who you are

You may not come from a traditional communications background at all—in fact, you’re as likely to have experience as a journalist, researcher or multimedia producer on your resume. We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements Exceptional writing skills, with a knack for translating complex technical concepts and workstream (and the stories of the people and teams building them) into clear, compelling narratives. 7+ years of experience operating and leading in fast-paced, complex, global environments. Familiarity with internal communications processes (direct experience not required). Exceptional verbal and interpersonal skills. Ability to apply first-principles thinking to turn challenges into opportunities and anticipate future needs. Proven ability to build relationships across all levels and functions, from interns to executives. Experience writing for a thoughtful, high-agency, and highly-engaged audience. Confidence in your own judgment and reasoning, and an eagerness to look beyond how others have approached something in the past. Preferred qualifications  Experience developing effective company-wide communications strategies (sourcing, curating, writing, distributing) preferably in a high-growth or technology environment. Adaptation is your sport. Comms experience is an asset, but not a requirement.
