Internal Controls Coordinator

We have an open position for a Risk & Compliance Professional – Internal Control Coordinator (ICC) supporting the Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine Division. In this role you will ensure compliance with the enterprise and division’s ethical standards and help COGMD continue to Win The Right Way. This role will be responsible for executing the internal controls program for SPM (coordinate compliance with Sarbanes - Oxley controls, Accounting Practices, Enterprise Procedures and other corporate governances). You will also administer the Small Entity Testing process for SPM through independent testing to ensure key controls are working effectively and as intended, and that the business is in compliance and aligned to corporate and local governance. **What You Will Do:** + Build, maintain, and test the internal control program across SPM’s Western and Eastern Hemispheres. + Develop an expanded understanding of Caterpillar’s business and accounting practices, systems, and procedures + Administer the Small Entity Testing program for SPM entities + Perform Internal Reviews to validate adherence to policies and procedures + Provide training to division personnel and leadership as it relates to segregation of duties process and other compliance topics as necessary + Identifies applicable regulations and evaluates impact to the division + Identifies existing and potential problems + Participates in developing corrective measures + Support Internal Audit and Advisory Services audits **What Skills You Have:** + Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes. + Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools, and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations. + Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. + Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. + Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers. + Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives. + Audit and Compliance Function: Knowledge of major responsibilities and tasks of Audit and Compliance (A&C) function; ability to manage the operation of A&C function in various business environment. + Data Gathering and Reporting: Knowledge of tools, techniques, and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company. You will be exposed to a variety of accounting and compliance functions and will perform a high level of compilation with a broad range of analysis work. The ICC will review and validate relevant data and data sources, analyze information and provide feedback. You will work on challenging, low, medium, and in some cases, high risk issues and makes decisions and recommendations as appropriate. **Top Candidates Will Have:** + Prior internal controls coordinator experience + Bachelor’s degree in an Accounting or Finance related discipline + Progressive Risk and or Compliance related experience **Additional Info:** + The location for this position is in Ft.
