About the Opportunity

 

The opportunity will involve managing a portfolio of claims (end-to-end) and will require strong stakeholder engagement; you will be comfortable in picking up the phone and providing updates and outcomes to your key stakeholders, in relation to their claims.

 

Whilst we would prefer someone with insurance/claims management experience, we are open to hearing from you if you do not have a claims or insurance background; essentially, we are looking for customer service/retail/call-centre superstars who are open to learning the fundamentals of insurance (on the job) and have the mindset of building a career in insurance.

 

NB: The internal position title is Internal Claims Adjuster, however similar or related job titles could be Claims Consultant, Claims Manager, Claims Handler, Claims Assessor. This is a 12 month fixed-term contract opportunity.

Key Requirements

 

Exceptional customer service skills

High attention to detail, organised and highly skilled in prioritising 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Previous experience in claims/general insurance environment (desirable)

Thorough knowledge of insurance terminology, practices and conditions (desirable)

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Manage a portfolio of claims

Providing support and advice to policyholders during the claims process

Examine claim forms, policies and endorsements, client instructions and other records to determine coverage

Investigate claims by conducting office-based analysis of physical damage details, interviewing claimants and comparing claim information with evidence

Set loss reserves and update when changes in circumstances become apparent

Prepare reports by collecting and summarising information required

Settle claims after determining the insurance carrier’s liability
