Internal Auditor – Lead Auditor: Innovation, Data Analytics, and AI Focus

What’s the role? Internal Audit’s mission is to provide independent and objective assurance to add value and improve operations. We serve as one of Bloomberg’s critical lines of defense to protect our value and enable growth for a fast-paced technology company. Internal Audit partners with teams and leadership to mature Bloomberg’s control environment, focusing on risk-based and practical recommendations. This role goes beyond traditional auditing by emphasizing innovation, data analytics, and artificial intelligence to drive transformative change within our Internal Audit group. You will be at the forefront of leveraging emerging technologies to enhance audit effectiveness, improve governance, and enable data-driven decision-making. You will help leverage emerging technologies to enhance audit effectiveness, improve governance, and enable data-driven decision-making. In this role, you will support audits covering Bloomberg’s global business, products, and services. You will contribute to integrating advanced analytics, automation, and AI into the internal audit lifecycle and help execute innovative audit initiatives.
Responsibilities: • Execute audit testing and fieldwork, applying analytics, automation, and AI-enabled techniques to assess risks and controls. • Perform data extraction, cleansing, and analysis across multiple sources to support audit objectives. • Apply innovative auditing techniques (e.g., data visualization, anomaly detection, predictive analysis) to enhance audit results. • Collaborate with audit teams and stakeholders to embed analytics into the audit lifecycle. • Document and present findings clearly, ensuring accuracy and completeness. • Stay current with emerging trends in AI, data analytics, and technology risk, bringing forward practical applications for audit. • Contribute to continuous improvement of Internal Audit methodology through adoption of modern techniques.
You’ll need to have: • 3–6 years of hands-on experience working within internal audit, risk management, or related governance functions. • Familiarity with data structures and experience using SQL, Python, R, or other analytics tools. • Exposure to AI/ML concepts or practical applications in business or risk contexts. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to diverse audiences. • Critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and strong attention to detail. • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
We’d love to see: • Experience with internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO, COBIT) • Experience using a Bloomberg Terminal or similar technology. • A passion for leveraging technology to enhance business value. • Contributions to building, promoting, or enhancing a data analytics program—whether through introducing new tools, scaling adoption, or mentoring peers on data-driven techniques. • Comfort navigating IT infrastructure, including setting up and managing databases, servers, and other tech stack components to support operational needs. • If you are a forward-thinking auditor passionate about driving innovation, data analytics, and AI within a global organization, we encourage you to apply!
Salary Range = 130000 - 180000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
