In this exciting, interim opportunity within the dynamic Internal Audit team, you’ll play a key role in providing robust, independent assurance and challenge on the effectiveness of processes and controls across the bank, while gaining exposure to senior stakeholders within our global organisation.

You’ll actively contribute to assurance activities by identifying and assessing risks, controls, and impacts within allocated business areas and you’ll deliver high-quality outputs that comply with Internal Audit methodology standards and agreed timelines.

You’ll support the Internal Audit Finance and Markets team in delivering the audit plan and we’re looking for someone who shares our commitment to delivering value to our people, customers, communities, and stakeholders.

The difference you’ll make:

Identifying and evaluating risks, controls, and impacts within the allocated business area, supporting the drafting of the Terms of Reference

Assessing the adequacy and testing the effectiveness of controls through data analysis, observations, and stakeholder interviews, documenting findings to support audit conclusions

Contributing to the development of the testing strategy and proactively supporting the progression of fieldwork activities

Participating in the planning and conducting site visits and information-gathering interviews, ensuring the accurate capture and analysis of collected data

Leading the coordination of the Audit Planning document and performing relevant analyses, including regulatory gap analysis and market practices during the planning phase

Reviewing and challenging existing procedures or risk management practices, leveraging internal and external data to inform decisions

What you’ll bring:

These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:

Prior experience in audit, risk management, or a similar field within an investment banking environment

Demonstrable familiarity with regulatory frameworks, with an in depth understanding of its principles and application within the banking sector

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge and experience of internal audit methodologies

Meticulous to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

It would also be nice for you to have:

Experience in big data management, particularly within transaction reporting environments

Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, SQL, or similar software to effectively handle and interpret large dataset

Relevant academic background in Markets and Finance or equivalent

What else you need to know:

This role is based at our offices in Triton Square, London located within easy walking distance from Warren Street and Euston.

We want our people to thrive at work and home, and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 3 days a week (pro-rata for part-time roles).
