Internship Details

Duration: 12 weeks, full-timeDates of Internship: May 18, 2026 - August 7, 2026Location: Burlington, NCCompensation: Paid internship; relocation assistance available for qualified candidatesEligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2026 through June 2028 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply.

About the Team:

The team works closely with HLA testing business unit to build software automation for several complex lab workflows. Currently the team uses various tools and technologies, including PowerBuilder, .net, SQL Server and several vendor apps, and integrates with several robots/instruments.

Internship Assignment Summary:

The candidate will function as an Application Developer with a focus on .NET software solutions. As part of the development team, the candidate will work to deliver business features for HealthCare domain. The role will involve design and development of software applications using .NET and database technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Working closely with internal staff to understand functional software requirement, developing and verifying software solutionsKnowledge of how to design/develop web services / APIsAble to review existing code, understand the workflows and redesign/refactor as neededKnowledge of application design activities, tools and techniques; ability to utilize these to convert business requirements and logical models into technical application designs and codeTeam player with a proactive attitude, the ability to be productive in a dynamic / collaborative environment and strong oral and written communication skillsUse AI to migrate existing capabilities to be more powerful and efficient toolsFamiliarity with Life Science is a plus, but not required

Education:

Working towards bachelor’s, master's or PhD degree in Computer Science or related disciplineHas experience delivering multiple projects in an academic or professional settingAbility to work effectively with various stakeholders and internal/external colleagues.Embraces diverse perspectives through partnerships and teamwork
