Internship Details

Duration: 12 weeks, full-timeDates of Internship: May 18, 2026 - August 7, 2026Location: Durham, NCHours: Monday-Friday 40/hrs/weekEligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2026 through June 2028 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply.

Reports to: Executive Director, IT Operations & Performance Management

About the Team:

We are seeking a motivated Intern to join the IT Operations & Performance Management team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to enterprise data analytics, performance reporting, and dashboard creation in a large, complex IT environment.

The intern will work on supporting and building operational metric reports and dashboards for infrastructure, cybersecurity, desktop, application, and helpdesk teams, leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, ServiceNow Platform Analytics, and modern AIOps concepts. This position is ideal for students interested in IT performance, business intelligence, KPIs, and operational metrics.

Internship Assignment Summary:

Build and enhance Power BI and ServiceNow dashboards to provide insights into IT operations and service delivery.Assist and Build metrics and Dashboards with ServiceNow Performance Analytics (PA) for incident, problem change, and service request metrics.Define and visualize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as uptime, resolution times, change success rates, and cybersecurity response.Apply AIOps-driven analytics within Microsoft Fabric to identify trends, anomalies, and predictive insights for IT services.Develop presentation-ready reports and visuals for IT leadership and business stakeholders.Support data analysis efforts to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities across various IT Operations teams.Document processes, prepare knowledge artifacts, and support presentations to senior leadership.

Education/Qualifications/Skills:

Current undergraduate or graduate student in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.Strong interest in data analytics, business intelligence, or IT performance metrics.Basic experience with Power BI, Excel, or data visualization tools.Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, ServiceNow, and ITSM concepts a plus.Strong communication skills and ability to present insights clearly.
 

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, DAX, Microsoft Fabric data pipelines, or data modeling.Exposure to dashboards, KPIs, AIOps concepts, or reporting in academic or project settings.ITIL 4 KnowledgeCuriosity to learn enterprise-scale IT service management and performance reporting.
