INTERN - Executive Social Media/Public Relations Assistant
Salary Range: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour This salary is based on experience and qualifications, in alignment with the level of responsibility assigned.  Simantel is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified intern to work in-person with our Executive team at our Peoria, Illinois office during Fall 2025. This internship provides a paid opportunity for students to gain practical experience in a marketing agency, network with Simantel professionals in their field of interest, develop and refine skills and build confidence in their abilities. This role also helps ensure internal alignment and efficient communications management across digital platforms and agency systems. The outcome I need to produce are: + Social media content that positions the executive as an industry thought leader and aligns with agency messaging. + Engaging, relevant content that fosters positive interactions with followers and potential partners. + Clear, timely communications that support transparency and foster stronger relationships. The outcomes I need to produce for the agency are: + Increased executive and agency brand visibility across key social media and PR channels. + Greater collaboration across teams to ensure integrated communications strategies. + Efficient reporting and tracking of key performance metrics tied to executive activity (e.g., scorecard updates, CRM data). + Strategic coordination with partner networks (e.g., AMIN) and external media contacts. To produce these outcomes, I need to: + Create and schedule social media content (including posts, videos, reels) that reflects executive and agency initiatives. + Collaborate with creative, media, and social teams to align messaging across platforms. + Execute LinkedIn outreach strategies and manage executive online presence. + Coordinate with PR/media teams on content crossover opportunities. + Maintain and update CRM contacts (SharpSpring) with accuracy and frequency. + Track, compile, and update agency KPIs and scorecard items related to executive output. + Organize and communicate action items and follow-ups for networks like AMIN. The skills and abilities I require are: + Strong writing and editing abilities, especially for social and professional platforms (portfolio/samples required). + Currently a senior-level student majoring in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field. + Content creation and editing skills, particularly for mobile video, reels, and graphics. + Familiarity with best practices across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook. + Basic CRM knowledge or willingness to learn (SharpSpring preferred). + Organization, attention to detail, and multitasking across fast-moving priorities. + Professional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and with leadership. To produce these outcomes, I have decision-making authority over the following: + Social media content development and scheduling cadence for the executive. + Creative execution of visuals, captions, and post formatting. + Platform and timing recommendations for boosted posts to increase reach. + Structure and delivery of internal updates related to scorecard metrics and CRM activity. Leading indication of my success are: + Increase in executive social media engagement, followers, and interaction quality. + Timely and accurate social content delivery that aligns with agency goals. + Satisfaction of executive and internal stakeholders with communications and content outcomes. + Up-to-date maintenance of SharpSpring contacts. Long-term indicators of my success are: + Growth in executive and agency brand awareness and perception online. + Strengthened relationships with media outlets, social partners, and professional networks. + Greater integration of social/PR activities into agency growth strategies. + Personal development into a strategic communications or digital marketing role. Schedule for the Fall Internship: + Start Date: Wednesday 9/3/25 + End Date: Minimum of 9 weeks (11 /5/25 ) with potential flexibility to be longer + * Working schedule to be no more than 28/hours per week in-person at our Peoria, IL office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays between 8am-4pm + * Exact times to be discussed to work around classes, with flexibility to work Mondays/Fridays if needed  The application deadline to apply is August 5th, 2025.
