Internship Details

Duration: 12 weeks, full-timeDates of Internship: May 18, 2026 - August 7, 2026Location: DurhamCompensation: Paid internship; relocation assistance available for qualified candidatesEligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2026 through June 2028 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply.

About the Team:

The Enterprise Systems Monitoring Team supports Labcorp by providing a framework of tools that deliver timely, actionable, and predictive insights into IT health and availability for operational support of Labcorp business systems.

Internship Assignment Summary:

Exciting opportunity to be part of the Labcorp 2026 Internship Program as an Enterprise Monitoring Intern!

We're looking for motivated individuals that are interested in enabling data driven business success by providing operational insight into performance and availability of business systems. The successful candidate will have strong scripting skills, an interest in software development, and familiarity with AWS and other cloud hosting providers. 

This individual will contribute to projects and work that support Enterprise Systems Monitoring (ESM) tasks and activities. A background in cloud technologies and software development is a plus. We're looking for someone who brings application knowledge and data analysis skills to help the ESM team, application teams, and operations teams build and improve analytics and dashboards for application health and troubleshooting. The internship will provide exposure to a range of tools and application technologies, including Datadog, Splunk and Tableau.

Education/Qualifications/Skills:

Possess practical experience with software development and different application hosting technologiesExperience with or knowledge about AI and machine learning is desirable and relevant to the internship opportunityKnowledge of IT event and alert management is a plusShould have working understanding of underlying technologies like operating systems (UNIX, Linux, and Windows), networks, and databasesGeneral knowledge of scripting or software engineering with the ability to write code/scripts for integrating products and technologiesShould possess excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills and be comfortable engaging stakeholders and other team membersHave problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to facilitate resolution of complex issues with innovative solutionsAdaptability and willingness to learn new tools and technologies is wantedPrefer some knowledge of systems engineering or application developmentNormally requires an education path in Computer Science
