Your work environment at EXP

EXP is currently seeking a talented Intern. In this role, you will be a part of the team based in Washington, DC or Fairfax, VA. The candidate will learn and perform diversified engineering work under direct supervision of a senior engineer. Duties include engineering design and preparation of construction plans utilizing MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D Software and various specialized civil engineering design programs. Miscellaneous duties include working with construction specifications and estimating quantities and costs. Candidate must be able to work within a team environment and have good communication skills.

 

What a day at EXP has in store for you

Assist with analysis and review of data, various reports, and geometric designs.  Assist with planning and preliminary designs  Perform analysis and design calculations according to the applicable design codes; use computer programs as appropriate Prepare construction plans using CADD programs Prepare construction specifications Perform material quantity take-offs Organize design calculations

  

What your experience looks like

Studying bachelor’s degree in civil or architectural engineering required Knowledgeable with design computer programs Knowledgeable with CADD programs such as MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D Knowledgeable with Geopak and 3D Modeling desirable but not required Proficient with MS Office software Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a team environment

 

The hourly rate for this role is $21 to $25 an hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skill set, experience, certifications, and geographic location. Compensation may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor.
