**Job Overview:**
McDermott is seeking an IT Engineering Intern to assist in supporting and improving our enterprise IT systems, digital tools, and project technology platforms. The intern will work closely with IT professionals and engineering teams to contribute to automation, system integration, data management, and software support for large-scale energy and infrastructure projects.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities:**
+ Support ongoing IT projects related to engineering systems, enterprise applications, or digital transformation
+ Assist in troubleshooting and resolving software or system issues reported by engineering or business users
+ Participate in development, testing, or deployment of internal tools, scripts, and web applications
+ Help document IT workflows, technical specifications, and user guides
+ Analyze system data and assist in dashboard/report generation (e.g., using Power BI, Excel, or SQL)
+ Support integration tasks between engineering tools (e.g., AVEVA, Hexagon, SmartPlant) and enterprise systems
+ Learn and apply cybersecurity best practices within a corporate IT environment
+ Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in system performance and user experience
+ Learning Objectives **:**
+ Gain practical experience in enterprise IT systems and digital engineering tools used in the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) industry
+ Understand how IT supports large engineering projects and global operations
+ Develop technical and soft skills through real-world problem-solving and collaboration
+ Learn to work in cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and construction disciplines
**Essential Qualifications and Education:**
+ Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
+ Basic understanding of programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, SQL, or PowerShell)
+ Familiarity with databases, cloud systems, or enterprise software (e.g., Microsoft 365, SharePoint, or SAP) is a plus
+ Strong analytical and communication skills
+ Willingness to learn and contribute proactively in a fast-paced environment
**Preferred Qualifications and Education:**
+ Exposure to data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
+ Interest in the energy or infrastructure sectors
+ Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) or agile methodologies
