Position Description

VFS Canada is currently looking for a post-secondary student for a Financial Analyst Intern/Co-op paid position to provide support with various projects and tasks to support the business. The internship role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment and to support/promote the students’ career goals through contact with professionals.

The internship experience enables students to participate in professional activities with Volvo Financial Services by working on important and innovative projects. Internships are structured learning experiences where interns and our full-time professionals work together on projects and allow students to integrate knowledge and skills in a mutually beneficial manner to the students and Volvo Financial Services.

 

Internship Duration: September - December 2025

Location:  238 Wellington St E, suite 300, Aurora, ON L4G 1J5, Canada

 Responsibilities

Assist with daily cash application processes, including accurate posting of payments, managing NSF chargebacks, and ensuring proper general ledger coding Support the finance team in preparing timely and accurate bank reconciliations while supporting key accounting processes to maintain financial integrity Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements for various projects and initiatives Participate in meetings with cross-functional teams, and follow up on document findings to drive project success Help identify opportunities to automate manual reporting and implement scalable, data-driven solutions Contribute to business intelligence and data preparation initiatives while leveraging tools and techniques to support strategic decision-making

Eligibility & Qualifications

Enrolled in a post-secondary institution with a focus on a business-related program Highly motivated, dynamic person who has a knack for detail, organization, patience, and a desire to learn Basic knowledge of the role of finance and financial markets Strong communication skills, ability to work with other business areas Ability to create innovative solutions to complex problems by conducting necessary research using multiple sources Ability to increase operational efficiency of processes by understanding and identifying areas of potential automation within the task

 

Technical Qualifications

Proficient in Microsoft Excel Experience working with Power Suits (Power Apps, Automate, BI) Experience in Oracle SQL and data visualization tools is an asset Experience in Hyperion Essbase and SmartView is an asset Knowledge of financial statement analysis is an asset
