The Aircraft Performance team is responsible for providing certified and operational performance data that defines the capabilities of our aircraft. We contribute to the development of new aircraft or derived aircraft and participate in maintaining the airworthiness of our in-service aircraft. The team also participates in flight testing activities and interacts with various certification agencies to meet all safety and airworthiness requirements. **During your internship, you will contribute to :** + Developing methods and software to analyse and visualize aircraft flight test and simulation data. + Optimizing and standardizing methods and tools used in Engineering for aircraft development. + Supporting engineers in their analyses during the aircraft development, testing and certification. + Proposing analytical or semi-empirical methods to certify avionics software using neural networks. + Exploring potential applications of artificial intelligence for development of aircraft performance models. + Promoting the usage of efficient IT tools in engineering work. **During your internship, you will learn:** + How to apply your software and data analytics knowledge to concrete examples in the aerospace world. + How to address software maintainability and version-control issues. + What problems aerospace engineers face when manipulating large amounts of data. + Challenges posed by the certification of AI-based systems in aerospace. + Communication and teamwork in an aerospace engineering environment **How to thrive in this role?** + You are currently enrolled in the bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or Data Science. + You are eager to discover a new professional field and to enlarge your professional experience beyond IT and applied mathematics. + You possess good programming skills (Python, Perl, C++, shell scripts, database management) + You have a working knowledge of the Linux and Windows environment. + You demonstrate strong communication skills (e.g. explain complex topics to non-specialists). + You possess good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. + You can work independently and demonstrate initiative. + You are proficient in written and spoken English. French would be a plus. ​ **Boarding Information:** + Location: Administrative Centre (CA) + Duration: 12 months + Flexible workplace-Hybrid _It is important to note that our internship opportunities are open to students only, not new graduates. All our interns may be required to occasionally travel outside of Canada for training/work purpose._ ​
