Intermediate Planner / Scheduler - Transit/Rail

We are looking for a driven and curious Intermediate Planner / Scheduler in Toronto to support various Transit and Rail projects. As an integral member in our program support team, you’ll perform more complex aspects of planning and scheduling activities; ensuring that all project control activities such as project planning, project administration, change management, project estimating, cost management and schedule management are executed. We’ll ask you to work with the project team to establish Work Breakdown Structures and Baseline Schedules, as well as prepare risk analysis schedule to forecast contingencies. As a member, we’ll ask you to conduct and co-ordinate reviews of Consultants, Contractors and Vendor schedules, to ensure plans are realistic and achievable. You’ll also be involved with Scheduling Quality Compliance on Schedules meeting PMI/Company Standards and developing and implementing an earned value system that accurately measures project work progress and performance. We’ll rely on you to carry out what-if and delay analysis’ and look to you for recommendations on scheduling procedures. We’ll help you grow, pursue and fulfill what inspires you - so we can make big impacts on the world, together. • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Project Management, or related technical field • At least 5+ years of Planning / Scheduling experience • Must have current and relevant Transit / Rail experience • A good understanding of building construction, timelines, and practices • Experience Working inside the Primavera (P6) scheduling tool; minimum 2 years’ experience • Proficiency with Scheduling systems spreadsheets, word processing software, databases and report writers • Transit Planning/Scheduling experience Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have: • Experience with EVM (Earned Value Management) • Active membership in AACE, PMI, or similar association. • PSP or PMI-SP certification a plus • Ability to develop cost / schedule analysis presentations both graphically, written, and verbally. • Strong communication skills and understanding of technical terminology Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
