We are a premier provider of facility planning/programming and consulting services to a variety of government, institutional, military, and corporate clients. These services include Strategic Planning, Facilitation & Stakeholder Engagement, Programming & Portfolio Optimization, and Master Planning & Design meant to enhance our clients’ business efficiencies. Our team includes planners, facility programmers, architects, landscape architects, interior designers, civil/environmental engineers, economists/business analysts, GIS analysts, graphic designers, and other related disciplines.
Role: The primary duties of the Intermediate Facility Planner are to build on existing planning knowledge by supporting and collaborating on project teams. This position works with a moderate level of guidance and direction on planning teams to deliver a wide range of federal planning projects, including Department of Defense (Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps), US Intelligence Community or a range of federal civilian agencies.
A Facility Planner is responsible for conducting and documenting physical and functional facility analysis to assist our clients in better understanding their space needs, risks and opportunities within their current or projected facility portfolio. Work involves defining operational patterns and mission requirements and developing strategies to support the changing needs over time. A Facility Planner applies data research and interview techniques to gather and analyze data to predict future requirements.
Projects can range from small, medium, or larger-size master planning and facility planning efforts. Responsibilities will include supporting planning recommendations developed by the team, completing DD 1391 forms and background documentation, project validation, and corresponding documentation in compliance with all applicable Federal and DoD policies and criteria. Planning projects may also include Vision Plans, Area Development Plans and Installation Development Plans that require knowledge and application of applicable Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) for planning.
* Planning knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge and some application of the philosophies and techniques of federal, urban, regional, military, and/or facilities planning.
* Research skills: Demonstrated knowledge and some experience in research, data collection, and interviews.
* Facilitation Skills: Desire to learn group facilitation skills or interview skills for use with client workshops and team charrette experience. Participate in client meetings and team charrettes.
* Critical Thinking: Working to solve straightforward problems; analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures.
* Client relations: Proven desire to develop client relationships.
* Deliverable management: Support planning team with deliverable page layouts, various charts/figures, brochures, posters, slide shows, and provision of deliverables in a variety of media formats. Graphic design skills are preferred.
* Communication Skills: Advanced English language skills, both written and verbal, to include technical writing/editing experience and a demonstrated ability to write, edit, and deliver planning content.

* Bachelor's in Architecture, Interior Design, Planning, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
* At least 2 years of experience in planning, architectural-engineering (AE) consulting, or related field.
* Proven ability to cultivate positive work relationships with multi-disciplinary teams for holistic solutions.
* Skilled in the following software: Microsoft Office Applications.
* Beneficial to have experience with: Adobe Creative Suite applications including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, Autodesk AutoCAD, SketchUp 3D Modeling, and GIS .
* Candidate expected to work in a virtual hybrid environment, with approximately two days per week at the Irvine office for team meetings and other collaboration.
* Candidate will be expected to travel to fulfill this position. Travel is usually a couple of days up to one week at a time, with some instances of two weeks at a time for international destinations.
