The role youll contribute:

The Clinical Research Assistant (CRA) will assist the Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs), Clinical Research and Academic Manager, or Clinical Research Assistant Director, or GRI Director of Operations as directed, and may be required to oversee specific duties relevant to patients participating in investigator intitiated, pharmaceutical, device, in-house, outpatient, and other trials for the clinical research physician investigators. He/She will actively assist in processes of specific areas of research as agreed with the Research Assistant Director, Director and/or Manager. The CRA will prepare forms and data documentation as requested consistent with assignment. He/She will assist with preparation, monitoring and follow-up of patient activities or regulatory processes as related to study requirements. Resolve queries issued by sponsor within a timely manner. Pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups are identified in the position responsibilities. The CRA will adhere to all Florida Hospital, State of Florida, and federal regulations and guidelines pertaining to HIPAA. The position holder actively contributes to providing outstanding customer service, accepts responsibility for maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all, and clearly demonstrates accountability for his/her own actions and decisions.

The value youll bring to the team:

Conforms to all standards of good research practice and provide support to the research department staff and patients by abiding current IRB, FDA, federal, state, and institutional regulations pertaining to human subjects research, including the use of institutional and departmental SOPs.

Facilitates study-required patient and/or regulatory activities of the trial according to the direction of manager or CRCs.

Communicates incoming data and patient status such as adverse events and inconsistencies with the CRC.

Responsible for accurate and timely submission of study related documents and materials.

Promotes Principal Investigator (PI) oversight by advising the CRC, Manager, Research Director of deviations in conduct, patient status, issues relevant to the integrity of the trial or the safety of research subjects.

The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed:

Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications of Word, Outlook, and internet skills

General medical knowledge and terminology

Ability to understand components of the medical records, including pathology, radiology, history and physical, operative and discharge reports.

Knowledge of cancer diseases and/or neurologic and orthopaedical diseases and/or urologic cancers

Practical experience in a clinical or research setting

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed:

Knowledge of cancer diseases and/or neurologic and orthopaedical diseases and/or urologic cancers

Practical experience in a clinical or research setting

Preferred:

Bachelors degree in health-related sciences

Practical experience in oncology and/or neurologic and orthopaedical research

Possess knowledge of federal, state and local regulations pertaining to human subject research

Certification from a clinical research professional organization, e.g. SOCRA, ACRP
