The Interior Validation Engineer will be responsible for Risk Assessment, Concept Validation, Prototyping, Benchmarking, Development, Test Management and Detailed documentation of the Interior components and systems through multiple stages of development. You will Conceptualize, Evaluate, Coordinate, Test, Root cause, Countermeasure and Validate Interior components and systems.
You'll have…
• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in designing, validating and developing, one or more interior subsystem or more of the following: Structures, Closures, and Adjoining parts including component manufacturing and assembly processes
• 3+ years of experience in the product design and development process, system requirements, and engineering best practices3+ years of experience using 3D CAD software collaboratively (NX, Catia, 3DX, etc.)
• Strong Engineering Fundamentals, Material science, Engineering Mechanics, Manufacturing Process, Kinematics and Thermodynamics.
• 1+ year of experience in working with Tier 1 or contract manufacturers.
Even better, you may have…
• Master's Degree in Engineering
• Excellent understanding of Metals, Polymers, Composites and Foams.
• Proficiency with Catia, Enovia, or similar tools including drawing and modelling practices and methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of prototyping, mold flows and injection molding processes.
• Experience with failure analysis techniques – SEM, X-ray, FTIR, 3D-scaning
• Understanding of Crash worthiness, Occupant safety and Dynamic impact testing.
• Experience using Confluence, Jira, Asana, or other project management tools
• An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team
• Strong understanding of Accelerated test methods, Material model calibration and Reliability.
• Experience with Mechatronics, C/C++ or Python is a plus, but no required.

What you'll do...
• Create/Draft DFMEA’s and DVPs to achieve best-in-class structural, NVH, Reliability and crash performance from conceptualization to mass production.
• Apply first principles for accessing feasibility and root causing failures.
• DOE creation to validate a theory and generate reliable data.
• Design and Develop Test fixtures.
• Data driven design change and risk mitigation.
• Optimize the concepts and designs with analytical and physical assessments, ensuring conformation to federal regulations governing assigned systems and internal requirements.
• Lead the coordination of supplier testing, part trials and Validation cycle at all stages of design.
• Deliver world-class Performance, Craftsmanship, Reliability through the proper implementation of Mechanical Design, Material science, Engineering Mechanics, CAE and Statistical Analysis.
• Author requirements and test methodologies.
• Cross functional involvement for implementation and execution.
