No County Bronx Street Address New York City Children's Center - Bronx Campus 1300 Waters Place City Bronx State NY Zip Code 10461 Duties Description NYCCC is recruiting a Director of Clinical Risk Management Department to oversee their Risk Management Department and will supervise the Clinical Risk Managers (CRM) assigned to the department. The Director will have on-call and recall responsibilities along with evening work hours. The duties of the Director include, but are not limited to:• Conducting preliminary and special investigations as needed, interviewing staff and patients, gathering evidence and interpreting findings in accordance with OMH regulations. • Reviewing and completing investigative reports and ensuring they meet all OMH established standards.• Reporting to the site of a serious incident and conducting preliminary investigation, communicating with senior administrators as needed.• Acting as a resource to team leaders/program directors as well as CRMs, identifying reportable incidents and facilitating the completion of all unit investigations.• Completing data entry and retrieval in the NIMRS and Justice Center database.• Attending facility-wide committee meetings as a representative of the Risk Management Department• Serving as the Co-Chairperson of Risk Management Committee, presenting and/or clarifying investigative findings and conclusions• Collaborating with outside agencies, such as the Justice Center, as the facility representative in response to inquiries or facilitating site visits.• Responding to facility staff, during work hours or while on-call. Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program as an Intensive Case Manager if they have:• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, recreation or recreation therapy, counseling, community mental health, child and family studies, sociology, or speech and hearing; and• 4 years of experience providing direct services to individuals, 50% of whom have been diagnosed with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorder or 4 years of experience linking individuals, 50% of whom have been diagnosed with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorder, to a broad range of services essential to living successfully in a community. 1 of the 4 years must have included working with individuals, 50% of whom have a primary diagnosis of mental illness.Substitution: Master's degree in a related field can substitute for 1 year of specialized experience.ORCandidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Intensive Case Manager eligible list.ORCandidates within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.Preferred Qualification - Proficient in MS Office Suite.
