What You'll Do

This position requires the ability to perform duties as the senior analyst – perform extensive research, collect and analyze large amounts of data, assess potential impacts to US interests, and support the PM.  Attention to detail is paramount.  Additionally, this position requires the ability to professionally communicate with Intelligence Community (IC) partners and team members.  The work will occur at Y-12 National Security Complex and will directly support IC, National / Global Security, Counterterrorism (CT), Counter-Intelligence (CI), and Counter-Proliferation (CP) requirements.  If required, willingness and ability to travel and with short notice. Provide training, deliver feedback, validate analysis, and offer support to project members. Support other federal agencies / projects as needed / required. Ability to learn and implement higher level security procedures, proficiency in applying proper classifications, consistency in processes / procedures. Accountable for conducting and clearly documenting work performed and that of project members.

OR Master's degree: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience. OR Ten or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting. Attention to detail is paramount.  Prior support performing Intelligence Analysis, CI, CT, and CP analysis in support of the Intelligence Community.  Ability to effectively use a computer (including typing and spelling), learn, conduct, and cull database queries / results, and provide written / oral assessments of findings. Must have knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office – specifically MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint; the ability to present information clearly and effectively through oral and written word. Ability to sit for extended periods of time behind a computer.  Additionally, this position requires the ability operate at the direction of the PM or the PM’s designee to create and maintain active communications with internal staff and external customers. Ability to perform duties as an intelligence analyst, individual contributor performing independent research and analysis, collaborate with team members, and formulate and defend opinions on the research completed; execute extensive database searches, refine database search criteria to achieve desired results, and collate and analyze analytical findings. Must be able to communicate and provide feedback to team members, analytical insights, as well as work independently as a team contributor - exhibiting a high degree of curiosity with tendencies to question even the obvious. Exhibit understanding and provide analytical awareness to team members regarding wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in intelligence analysis tasks and activities, with minimal oversight. Prior experience working as a intelligence analyst and working independently with multi-disciplinary teams - internally and with other IC members / agencies. Preferred Job Requirements

Experience as an intelligence Analyst within the intelligence community.  Knowledge of Y-12’s intelligence support to the IC, DOE, and other customers. Analytical background supporting the IC, including: Counter-Intelligence, National / Global Security, Counterterrorism (CT), and/or Counter-Proliferation (CP) programs / projects / tasks.

If a range of Career Levels is posted, i.e., Senior Associate to Senior Specialist, internal applicants already in one of the Career Levels would come across at their current Career Level. Internal applicants currently in a lower level Career Level would move to the lowest posted Career Level.   Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

 

This position may require entry into the Material Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (10 C.F.R. Part 712), which requires successful competition of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation and may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.

 

This position may be categorized as a “designated position” identified by 10 C.F.R. Part 709, requiring successful completion of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation that may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
