This role directly supports Wärtsilä’s strategy to lead the marine industry’s transformation toward smarter, more efficient, and environmentally sound operations. By defining system level functionalities and a smooth integration handover from sales to delivery, you will help us deliver new building ship solutions that enhance customer value and reduce environmental impact.

 

Your Role and Responsibilities

As an Integration Manager, you will:

Improve Wärtsilä’s complex marine solution project sales and delivery by enabling optimised system functionalities and reducing integration risks. Act as a proactive system-level integration partner across customers, sales, customer delivery, and business units to ensure smooth execution of complex marine projects. Collaborate closely with project execution teams to ensure seamless handover from sales and continuous improvement in delivery. Support vessel operations by optimising system-level functionalities with a consultative, customer-focused mindset. Co-develop functional specifications early in selected projects together with shipowners to align expectations and reduce risk. Create and maintain system-level technical documentation, including functional specifications and feasibility studies Drive the sales and delivery of pre-defined, pre-engineered solution configurations. Guide the development of supporting tools and documentation (e.g. Functional Specifications, System Simulations, System Level Configurators). Provide consultative sales support to tailor solutions that meet customer needs and operational goals. Gather and apply feedback from customers and internal stakeholders to continuously improve our service and offering.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in system integration, shipbuilding, ship design, ship operation, or a similar role within the marine or related industry. Sales, sales support, or project management experience is a plus. Strong technical background of electrical systems, technical knowledge of marine engines and propulsion, and power conversion technologies is an advantage. Consultative and customer-focused mindset with excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to coordinate complex technical matters on a system level. Strong interest in system-level improvement, risk mitigation, and functionality optimisation. Fluency in both Chinese and English is required to effectively collaborate with global teams and local stakeholders. Familiarity with marine compliance requirements for hybrid and integrated systems is an advantage.
