PayPal, Inc. seeks Integration Engineer 3 in Austin, TX
Job Duties: Work with key internal stakeholders, including Product Management, Risk, Payments, etc., to address specific customer business requirements or new product features. Collaborate with Sales, Account Management, and Solution Engineers to conduct detailed business process analysis and document customer’s business models and requirements. Act as the main technical point of contact for all implementation-related activities throughout the integration lifecycle. Troubleshoot complex integration issues, liaising between product, engineering, and external teams to quickly track down and resolve technical issues of PayPal APIs and SDKs. Employ performance monitoring tools to assess API functionality, analyze metrics, and proactively detect potential issues before they affect partners. Apply advanced debugging methods, such as log analysis and database queries, to troubleshoot and resolve integration challenges. Facilitate setting up test accounts, provide technical development, and guide the client through testing and pre-launch activities. Ensure partners implement optimal integration strategies and techniques with a high degree of quality utilizing PayPal’s defined best practices. Guide and support new Integration Engineers by providing technical advice on complex integration scenarios, promoting a culture of continuous learning and technical expertise. Advise management and appropriate groups on support issues impacting customer satisfaction and provide recommendations for appropriate actions. Review in-depth technical information, including sample code, white papers, FAQs, and snippets for distribution to PayPal customers. Participate in the development of tools, systems, and processes aimed at improving product supportability or overall support productivity. Attend meetings as a point of contact or stakeholder for projects and conduct presentations. Write developer-facing documentation and certification requirements to support and streamline integration processes. Advise and assist the technical documentation team in creating excellent self-service integration guides and implementation best practices. Collaborate with external developers to ensure a smooth integration of PayPal products into their systems. Be the Voice of the Customer and relay constructive feedback to product managers, engineering, technology, and other internal groups on ease of use and new functionality. Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus one year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
• developing Java-based applications and solutions
• utilized JavaScript to build dynamic and interactive web interfaces
• scripting and debugging Python code contributed to automation and data analysis
• leveraging XML for structured data handling and seamless communication
• designing and implementing RESTful & SOAP Web Services ensuring seamless integration
• managing and optimizing MySQL databases, ensuring effective data organization and retrieval
• Oracle & IBM DB2 databases, executing complex queries while maintaining data integrity and optimizing performance
• Git, adhering to best practices in version control to facilitate smooth collaboration
• Project tracking and task management skills using JIRA
• XPath, navigate and query XML documents with precision, enhancing data processing capabilities
