Job Description
The Integration and Test Engineer will oversee the system level integration and testing of a spacecraft application. This role involves planning and executing the assembly, integration, verification, and validation of space components and systems, ensuring mission assurance and launch readiness.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute the integration and test strategy, schedule, and resource plan for the program.Lead day-to-day mechanical and electrical integration activities for hardware, avionics, and software subsystems.Ensure test readiness by preparing and approving Test Plans, procedures, and reports in accordance with customer and industry standards.Act as the primary technical interface between engineering, production, test, quality, and program management teams during integration and test phases.Coordinate test anomaly resolution, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.Support launch site operations, final system checkouts, and mission readiness reviews.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.12-15 years of related experience, preferably in spacecraft or aerospace applications.Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI Access.Experience with space system test campaigns, including thermal vacuum, vibration, and exotic testing.Strong understanding of space system architecture, subsystem interfaces, and verification methodologies.Familiarity with NASA-STD, MIL-STD-1540 or similar standards.Additional Skills & Qualifications10+ years of recent experience in space vehicle system integration and testing.Experience supporting launch site integration and pre-launch activities.Proficiency with test data acquisition and test automation tools.Working knowledge of configuration management and quality assurance processes.Work Environment
This role is part of a classified R&D program at the Navy Research Lab, offering a flexible schedule with most employees starting at 6am and leaving around 2:30pm. The environment includes working alongside top engineers and scientists, with some hybrid flexibility available during certain phases of the role.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $86.53 - $91.35/hr.
