Operations Risk and Compliance (ORC) is looking for an experienced Risk Manager to own workstreams related to Integrated Risk Management. These workstreams could include, but are not limited to: licensing and permitting, tracking of emerging regulations, managing escalations, and managing internal amazon mechanisms.
This role will be a part of the team which identifies, assesses, and addresses regulatory and legal risks. This person will manage mechanisms supporting a compliance management system and will work with stakeholder business, legal, and policy leaders to proactively identify regulatory compliance opportunities and risks, and propose innovative approaches and risk mitigation strategies for solving them. You should be an experienced industry professional who understands compliance and drives innovative process changes through multiple organizations.
Key job responsibilities
- Seeking opportunities and anticipating challenges/obstacles our stakeholder business could face as the global business and regulatory landscape evolves.
- Manage and monitor regulatory activities, applications, proceedings, and filings. Building a process with internal teams to intake regulatory changes through established regulatory monitoring practices.
- Be internal expert for compliance, regulations and requirements, including advising other departments.
- Work collaboratively and transparently with senior business leadership, legal, public policy, and tech teams, to ensure alignment between regulatory requirements, core business priorities, and transportation compliance priorities within the tech roadmap.
- Derive and develop regulatory risk metrics in within our existing risk assessment standards.
- Assist with linking policies, standard operating procedures, internal controls, monitoring, and reporting with the goal of improving operations, compliance policies, and risk management
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
