As an Intake Coordinator, you’ll be the first point of contact for clients and referral sources, ensuring a smooth, efficient intake and referral process. You’ll verify insurance, complete intake documentation, schedule appointments, and maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Key Responsibilities:
Welcome clients and gather required information at the point of intake
Verify insurance coverage and benefits; ensure financial clearance
Schedule appointments for consultations, assessments, and follow-up care
Accurately complete intake and admission paperwork
Maintain up-to-date census information using Bed Board
Enter client/patient demographic and clinical information into the EHR
Communicate effectively with referral sources and internal departments
Address client concerns and coordinate appropriate resolutions
Maintain organized client charts and perform clerical support duties
Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
Participate in cross-location collaboration and support as needed
Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior experience in medical office administration, intake, or front-desk support preferred
Required License/Certification (one of the following):
None required
Additional Qualifications:
Strong customer service orientation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to type 40+ WPM accurately
Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT/HCPC codes a plus
Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Word, and Excel
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Comfort working with culturally diverse populations
