Intake Coordinator, Residential Crisis - Towson, MD
Crisis Residential Program services provide short-term intensive, round-the-clock, personalized support to help stabilize someone having a mental health crisis so they can avoid hospitalization. Our teams collaborate with providers who are already involved in an individual’s treatment and works to link clients to other services offered by Sheppard Pratt or other community providers.     What to expect. • Actively seek to provide quality customer service while providing client responsive  intake services that reflects a working knowledge of internal programs, support groups and other services.  • Ensure that all clients are scheduled to be seen in the mandated time period by a prescriber.  • Ensure All intake documentation is completed and maintained.  • Ensure all necessary items are procured from the referral source, including but not limited to medication lists, authorizations, and current diagnostic information.  • Enter data and patient registration information into the electronic health record to facilitate billing, tracking or patient referral sources, and other reporting as is required.  • Ensure every effort is made to keep beds filled daily.  • Assist with supervising shift as needed, with selecting, training, scheduling, directing, and appraising the performance of program staff. Also assists with disciplining and discharging of program staff when applicable and assisting with ensuring the shifts are staffed.  • Participate in short and long term program planning and evaluation.  • Provide leadership in supervising and monitoring the behavior of residents. Assure expectations and program rules are clearly adhered to and understood.  • Perform other tasks as assigned and necessary, such as transporting clients.   What you’ll get from us.

Knowledge of community resources in social, medical, and mental health areas; knowledge of managed care organizations; basic knowledge of health insurance terminology, and basic oral and written communication skills normally acquired through the completion of a High School Diploma/equivalent and 2 years of direct related experience. Valid state driver's license with 3 or fewer points at time of hire. Access to a vehicle during working hours for work related duties, including transporting clients as necessary. When access to a vehicle is required, vehicle insurance must name the employee as an insured driver. Must have interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients, all levels of internal staff, and various outside agencies and contacts.
